Mixing of a five-track hard rock EP coupled with the writing of a dissertation titled “Mixing Hard Rock: Combining the Technical with the Essence” which provides a set of guidelines of how to mix hard rock music.

Approaches to Recording

Recording of UWL Camerata utilizing ORTF, Decca Tree and XY Stereo Recording techniques.

Performance in the Studio

Recording of Bonnie Heaton’s “Velvet Moon”. Required the use of multiple microphone placement techniques and knowledge of how to setup multiple musicians playing in different rooms.

Combining Sounds

Mixing Hurray for the Riff Raff’s “Living in the City” while emulating the styles of mixing engineers Andrew Wallace and Chris Lord-Alge, utilizing mixing techniques often employed by both and software emulation plugins of their hardware.
